Welcome

Lately I've worked a lot on blogs to share music and videos, but now I wanted to work a blog just about me, I'm studying Chinese (Mandarin) and so I wanted to have a blog to write out the details of my day entirely in English, Chinese, and if I continue to study anything else I'll add that too ;P

Today!

Hi, sorry it's been a while and even longer since I've written this to be translated into Chinese too!

Tomorrow my baby sister leaves to go back to school in Utah. Today we are going to the park to have a picnic and a piñata. :) It's actually been about two years or more since I've hit a piñata. T_T always gone when they do it for Christmas!

Ah well.... Also been doing well with my exercising. Am up to nearly 20 miles a day on my bike and I've been training my arms too. So overall I'm feeling pretty good ^_^

Favorite Singles of 2009

10. An Cafe - AROMA

1. AROMA
2. ベストアパート
3. 365daysクエイサー

**I really liked this single, AROMA was quite good. Best Apart (#2) is really cute and has a sentimental feel to it. And number 3 is my favorite! It's kind of sweeping feels like the best way to describe it. :)

09. Ayabie - 会いたくて

(Limited Ed. Tracklist)
1. 会いたくて
2. master piece
3. 会いたくて (Instrumental)
4. master piece (Instrumental)

1. 会いたくて
2. master piece
3. サマーチャイム
(Reg Ed. B Tracklist)
1. 会いたくて
2. master piece
3. ソプラノ

**Now I really liked 会いたくて, really I think it was Kenzo's playing that I really liked :P I love the drums in this track! master piece is pretty good, just feels more like what Ayabie have been coming out with lately. Though the new single Dramatic is really good. サマーチャイム is upbeat and cute, and ソプラノ is pretty, mainly piano driven and Aoi's vocals sound pretty good in there.

08. Ayumi Hamasaki - You were... / BALLAD

1. You were...
2. BALLAD
3. RED LINE 〜for TA〜
4. You were... (Music Box mix -retake version-)
5. Sunset 〜LOVE is ALL〜 (Orchestra version)
6. You were... (Original mix -Instrumental-)
7. BALLAD (Original mix -Instrumental-)
8. RED LINE 〜for TA〜 (Original mix -Instrumental-)

**Now I just loved this single, it's so beautiful. You were... isn't as strong as BALLAD for me and has a Christmas-y feel, but I like it. BALLAD is absolutely beautiful and I cry when I hear it! RED LINE ~for TA~ is fun and upbeat. The music box mix of You were... is quite pretty and the Orchestra version of Sunset is very pretty as well :)

07. Spontania - 今でもずっと feat. Yuna Ito

1. 今でもずっと feat. 伊藤由奈
2. My Life
3. 今でもずっと (Instrumental)
4. My Life (Instrumental)

**Oh I love love love Yuna Ito and this single just blew me away! I'd never heard Spontania before so it was really cool to hear that I really grew to love their style as well :) My life is really good, these guys are really great!

06. LANDS (Jin Akanishi) - BANDAGE

1. BANDAGE

**Oh I adore this song, for one thing its Jin's voice solo, secondly because it's so different than the stuff he had been doing with KAT-TUN. I made sure to buy this single while I was in Japan! :)

05. MUCC - 空と糸

(Limited Ed. Tracklist)
1. 空と糸
2. 気化熱
(Reg Ed. Tracklist)
1. 空と糸
2. カナリア

**空と糸 has got to my all time favorite MUCC song, I like some of their other stuff, but I'm not what you call a big fan. Though I appreciate all the MUCC members' twitters :) 気化熱 is quite good as well, fun instrumentally. カナリア is a fun track. Jazzy :)

04. EXILE - FIREWORKS

1. FIREWORKS
2. 優しい光
3. THE NEXT DOOR -INDESTRUCTIBLE- feat.FLO RIDA
4. FIREWORKS (Instrumental)
5. 優しい光 (Instrumental)
6. THE NEXT DOOR -INDESTRUCTIBLE- feat.FLO RIDA (Instrumental)
7. WON'T BE LONG -LIVE VERSION-

**At first FIREWORKS took a long time to grow on me, but in the end I really loved it! 優しい光 is a pretty ballad, their voices are very suited for it! THE NEXT DOOR -INDESTRUCTIBLE- is my all time favorite! I really like FLO RIDA in there too :) and the live version of WON'T BE LONG is awesome, love that song!

03. D=OUT - 青い鳥

1. 青い鳥
2. 鬼門
3. 春風シャララ (cordiality.ver.)

**One of my all time best loved songs, really! I love 青い鳥, it's so pretty! Number 2 is kind of funny in that the whole single is pretty much ballad, but then it's heavy lol.

02. Yuna Ito - Let It Go

1. Let it Go
2. Happy Days
3. Let it Go (Instrumental)
4. Happy Day (Instrumental)

** I have to say this single helped me through some difficult situations, which has caused my love for Yuna Ito to grow! lol, I love everything about this single!

now for number 1, b/c I'm not good at choosing this, I have a tie for number 1.

Superfly - Dancing On The Fire

1. Dancing On The Fire
2. Alright!! (9.2 Free Live at Roppongi Hills Arena)
3. (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

**It was so hard to choose, but the other single I love just the same!
This has got to one of Superfly's greatest songs, it showcases the power of her voice, and really shows off her being influenced by 60's & 70's music which is great! Alright!! live is great! And her cover of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman is powerful and all around enjoyable!

Sadie - 陽炎

(First Press A & B Tracklist)
1. 陽炎
2. BLACK STARS
3. ナイフ
(Reg Ed Tracklist)
1. 陽炎
2. BLACK STARS
3. ナイフ
4. 陽炎 ~unplugged ver~

**Now this is the first Sadie single I fell in love with, and now I just adore this band! 陽炎 is just a freaking great song, period. BLACK STARS reminds me of the GazettE actually, some of their songs, and it has this lovely bass solo that I love! :). ナイフ is a really strong song. 陽炎 ~unplugged ver~ oh I can't gush enough over this, it's all piano and Mao's voice, it's so beautiful!

Favorite Albums of 2009

Ah, sounds like fun to do, so I'm doing it :P

10. BoA - BoA

1. I Did It For Love feat. Sean Garrett
2. Energetic
3. Did Ya
4. Look Who's Talking
5. Eat You Up
6. Obsessed
7. Touched
8. Scream
9. Girls On Top (cover of her K-pop song with same title)
10. Dress Off
11. Hypnotic Dancefloor

** I really like this whole album, well which is why it made my list :P. haha. BoA did such a good job here, her English sounds good, her dance moves are great, and her voice is sounding really strong here --- I find that some artists when they sing in other languages they can't seem to maintain the same sort of the strength throughout, but BoA certainly doesn't seem to have trouble doing it. I've bolded my top faves from this album, though, I think all the tracks are great and fun!

09. alan - Voice of EARTH

1. 天女~interlude~
2. 明日への讃歌
3. 空唄
4. 懐かしい未来~longing future~
5. ひとつ
6. 風の手紙
7. BRAVE
8. 夢のガーデン
9. 群青の谷
10. my friend
11. Liberty
12. 月がわたし
13. RED CLIFF~心・戦~
14. 恵みの雨
15. Together
16. RED CLIFF~心・戦~ (Modern Rock Edition)

**alan is probably one of my all time favorite female singers, her voice is lovely and as she is from Sichuan, of Tibetan ancestry she also sings using what's called the Tibetan wail (very high pitched singing) most notable on her first single. I was enchanted the minute I heard it, I think unfortunately now the songs she is singing are not quite right for her voice. And she does not seem to use her wailing as often. But this album was great and the songs were well chosen.

08. the GazettE - DIM

1. 「剥離」
2. THE INVISIBLE WALL
3. A MOTH UNDER THE SKIN
4. LEECH
5. 泣ヶ原
6. 「エ リ カ」

12. 「感触」
13. 白き優鬱
14. IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAOS
15. 「朦朧」
16. OGRE
17. DIM SCENE

**for me no list would be complete without adding my all time favorite band, the GazettE. These guys for me are very special. I can't really say that this album is as good as "NIL" was for me, but I still love it.

07. 12012 - mar maroon

1. THE WORLD
2. DNA
3. As
4. スマイルアゲイン
5. MERRY GO WORLD
6. PSYCHO VIRUS
7. 逢いたいから...
8. SYSTEM [0] DOWN
9. 太陽
10. GENERATION
11. I DEAL
12. Hallelujah-Album Ver.-

13. 願い

**I think this album gets a lot of crap thrown at it, and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't deserve it. So the sound is different, so it's not their indies work, deal with it, it wasn't written to please you. As far as I'm concerned the albums these peeps put out reflect themselves and if you can't deal with it don't listen. And on another side note, I love this album, and I love their new one "SEVEN" too, so yeah!

06. SID - hikari

1. 落園
2. 妄想日記2
3. 嘘
4. サーカス
5. 泣き出した女と虚無感
6. モノクロのキス
7. 罪木崩し
8. 2℃目の彼女
9. capsule
10. ドラマ
11. 光

**oh this album is amazing! Just one listen to "Uso" (track 3) was what caused me to love it! lol. But I love love love this album. Period.

05. An Cafe - BBパラレルワールド

1. Let's Brand New Wave
2. 夏恋★夏GAME

3. 苺
4. Passion!!
5. NYAPPY in the parallel world
6. alone
7. AROMA
8. 武士道と云ふは死ぬ事と見付けたり
9. SUMMER DIVE ~甘トロPEACH☆BEACH~
10. MY HEART LEAPS FOR "C"

04. kagrra, - 珠

1. ぱらいぞ
2. 渦
3. 蓮
4. 嘆美なる死への憧憬
5. 桜月夜
6. 鬼哭啾愀
7. 咒葬
8. 素晴らしきかな? 人生
9. 永遠に、、、
10. 鬼灯

**kagrra, is, I believe, one of the most understated bands out right now. Their music is beautiful and emotional. Isshi's voice is gentle and not and the music is played so well it makes me cry. Can't choose a favorite if you love them all, right? lol. Love it!

03. Girugämesh - NOW

1. NOW [Intro]
2. bit crash
3. NO MUSIC, NO REASON
4. ALIVE
5. I think I can fly
6. BEAST
7. nobody
8. 睡蓮
9. DIRTY STORY
10. GAME
11. driving time
12. arrow

**now, I thought this made a fitting number 3, personally because I love every single track on it, there is a track for my every feeling if you understand what I mean, every emotion I have can be found in these songs. Satoshi's voice is great, the guitarist is fabulous, the bass is just awesome and the drums are too good! :)

02. DELUHI - ユグドアライヴ -Yggdalive-

and dun dun dun

01. Namie Amuro - Past>Future

2009 Past-Future (09.12.16)
1. FAST CAR
2. COPY THAT
3. LOVE GAME
4. Bad Habit
5. Steal my Night
6. FIRST TIMER feat. DOBERMAN INC
7. WILD
8. Dr.
9. Shut Up
10. MY LOVE
11. The Meaning Of Us
12. Defend Love

**Namie! This album is really great, I love it from start to finish! I bought it while I was in Japan last year and I'm so glad I forked out the 42 bucks for it. It was worth it and I swear this album is going to be buried with me. haha.

Ok that's it for now peeps, I'll come back with top ten singles :)

~D

Something Interesting, pt. 2

ok, well I'm still bored, so I thought I'd throw pt. 2 up. For fun, it's actually quite time consuming, so it should make me tired enough to go to sleep ^_^

Number 11: 12012 (イチニゼロイチニ)

12012 started out in '03, very heavily vk style, over the years they've toned down, and as with a lot of the Visual Kei bands that go Major they tone down their looks quite a bit. They are also one of the few bands in the vk genre who go by their own names.

Wataru Miyawaki (宮脇 渉) - Vocalist
Hiroaki Sakai (酒井洋明) - Guitarist
Yuusuke Suga (須賀勇介) - Guitarist
Tomoyuki Enya (塩谷朋之) - Bass
Tooru Kawauchi (川内 亨) - Drums

my faves:

Wataru Miyawaki (宮脇 渉), Birthdate: 80/07/23

Tooru Kawauchi (川内 亨), Birthdate: 83/04/11

Number 12: Girugamesh (ギルガメッシュ)

These guys have been out since '04, they are a riot, just watching these guys is too funny for words and the fact that they not only film their antics, but they also take photographs in abundance and use twitter! lol. Definitely worth following, these guys are natural comedians.

Satoshi (左迅) - Vocalist
Nii (弐) - Guitarist
Shuu (愁) - Bass
Яyo - Drums

I've grown very fond of all these dummy's so it's a lil hard to pick a fave, but here you go:

Satoshi (左迅), Birthdate: 84/10/13

Яyo, Birthdate: 86/09/20 (this man is so entertaining, He posts quite a bit of the stuff on twitter and he loves Stitch from "Lilo & Stitch.")

Number 13: Vidoll (ヴィドール)

The band was formed in 2002, and in '07 went major. I absolutely love Jui's voice, it's amazingly beautiful. They will be going into an activity pause later this year because it's been discovered that Jui has a blood clot on his vocal cords, :(. I found out about this earlier a couple of months ago when I read his blog confessing to it. All I can say is I wish that he had something sooner and gotten help sooner, I love his voice and the music, but he needs to pay attention to his health, pretty much to my dismay they are still going to tour and release another single this year. I hope he will be ok until he can get the proper medical attention!

Jui (ジュイ) - Vocalist
Shun (シュン) - Guitarist
Giru (ギル) - Guitarist
Rame (ラメ) - Bass (Leader)
Tero (テロ) - Drums, Piano

ok, now for my faves:

Jui (ジュイ), Birthdate: 78 or 79/06/30 (lovely beautiful man, hope you get well soon!!!)

Number 14: DuelJewel

These guys formed in 1997, but didn't really get off the ground until 1999. They were the first band, well maybe other than Dir en grey, that I was exposed to as far as J-Rock/Visual Kei. They have some absolutely great music and I immediately fell in love with Hayato's vocals.

Hayato (隼人) - Vocalist
Shun - Guitarist
Yuuya (祐弥) - Guitarist
Natsuki - Bass
VAL (ばる) - Drums

Number 15: LM.C (lovely-mocochang)

LM.C consists of two members, maya formerly of Miyavi's support band and The Sinners and Aiji, former guitarist of Pierrot. They were formed in 2006, while maya was still with Miyavi. They are both very talented guitarists and the music is fun and upbeat! Very good stuff :)

maya - Vocalist
Aiji (アイジ) - Guitarist

Favorite member is:

maya, Birthdate: 79/07/30

Number 16: SuG (サグ)

Now I'm first to admit that SuG don't exactly have award winning music. But, somehow, no matter what, I can forgive them for two reasons, 1. "butterfly BoY" and 2. how freaking cute they are. lol. Though I do think that vocally Takeru has some weakness, I appreciate that his voice is unique and that sometimes the music can be really amazing.

Takeru (武瑠) - Vocalist
masato - Guitarist
yuji - Guitarist
Chiyu - Bass
Shinpei - Drums

now for my faves:

Takeru (武瑠), Birthdate: 87/05/11

masato, Birthdate: 85/05/26

Number 17: Versailles (ヴェルサイユ)

No list could be complete without Versailles, especially since their style of music is closer to what I had been listening to for years, Symphonic, Doom and Death Metal. And I still love the style, so I feel very comfortable listening to the music that comes from these guys. They were formed in 2007 with 5 members, they have dropped to 4 official members however because Jasmine You, the Bassist, passed away last year due to poor health. RIP. <3>
KAMIJO - Vocalist
HIZAKI - Guitarist
TERU - Guitarist
Jasmine You - Bass
YUKI - Drums

My faves:

KAMIJO, Birthdate: 75/07/19

HIZAKI, Birthdate: 79/02/17

Number 18: Karasu (カラス)

Karasu were formed last year as a session band, but they decided to release a single. I think it was really quite good, and loved it. They are going to release another single later this year, so I'm pretty psyched ^_^, now the fun thing about this is, all the members are from different groups.

Tatsurou (逹瑯) [MUCC] - Vocalist
hiroto (ヒロト) [alice nine.] - Guitarist
Mizuki (美月) [Sadie] - Guitarist
dunch [jealkb] - Bass
Kenzo (ケンゾ) [Ayabie] - Drums

don't really need to mention my faves because I've already mentioned them before :)

Number 19: Gackt (ガクト)

Probably one of the most influential figures in VK, Gackt started his solo career in 1999 after leaving Malice Mizer, which in itself is very confusing as there are two answers given. His popularity is very high and most people know who he is, when I was in Japan, there was never any shortage of magazines that had his face on it. :) Born July 4, 1973.

Number 20: hide

hide, former X-Japan, probably the most influential and one of the greatest guitarists of all time :). I guess it's really difficult to find what I want to say about him. He's a legend is pretty much all I can say. He was born December 13, 1964 and was found dead May 2, 1998 (May 2nd is my b-day :() by suicide. RIP
